Entered Australian Civil Register as VH-BIR on 13 August 1947 with F. O?Brien, Ballarat, Victoria. To C. Elder, Essendon on 28 June 1950. To C. Elder, Melbourne on 28 June 1950. Removed from Australian register on 28 February 1951 as exported to New Zealand in August 1950. Imported by Aviation Enterprises Ltd. and arrived in Wellington on ?Tulse Hill? on 02 October 1950. Assembled by Aircraft Engineering Co of NZ Ltd and entered the New Zealand Civil Aircraft Register as ZK-AUS, but because of the poor condition of the aircraft it was not brought up to NZ civil airworthuiness standards until November 1950. Crashed at Tokirima while being operated by Aviation Enterprises Ltd. on 16 March 1953 after stalling in a turn and hitting the ground. |

Built at Rongotai. BOC Unit 18 Rongotai 30 September 1941. Crashed at Tokirima near Taumarunui about noon on 07 March 1942 while being operated by No.2 EFTS. The aircraft was caught in bad weather and descended through a gap in the clouds to attempt a forced landing on a football field. The aircraft stalled while on final approach, crashed and burned. LAC Ronald Jones killed and aircraft written off. |
